What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I receive my recent transfer from Givedirectly, I was so much happy to the extend that I could not really record what I was doing. When I got through celebrating, I went and divided the transfer into two portions. I'd used the first portion of it to buy three bundles of zinc and other building materials to start my house project and to also pay the engineer. The remaining portion of the transfer was therefore spent on rice for business purposes to empower myself and support my children. The remaining portion of the second portion was used for food because my family needs to eat healthily and be stronger.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my observations about GiveDirectly, I have not been able to see anything that is not done well by GiveDirectly. GiveDirectly have done very much well by reaching out to every deserving households in the town and determining their eligibility during the enrolment process. In my opinion about what is not done well, I don't really think that I have anything wrong. My thanks to God Almighty and GiveDirectly for such great opportunity to empower myself and for making my family happier.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The previous house that I am living in along with my family is not in good condition. I have long been planning to build a new house for the comfort of my family and I but my financial status is so low that I could not meet up with my plans. When I received my transfer from Givedirectly, I precisely decided to work on my previous plans of building a new house for the comfort of my family and I. I'd also started to raising some cattles to help me in the future to save more money for future used just incase if the transfer from Givedirectly stops coming.

What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for this opportunity. Before I started receiving transfers things started to get difficult for me. I no longer had strength to make farms. I wanted to build my house but haven't been able to do so due to lack of money. I haven't withdrawn all of the money. I withdrawn some of my money to buy gas for contractors that will cut planks for my house. I have been sick. I used a little amount to take care of my hospital bills and bought some food itmes for my family. Hopefully after receiving all of the transfers I will start to build my house. Our lives will improve for the best.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly is not doing anything unwell. It is changing our lives for the best. Taking us from poverty. GiveDirectly is making our dreams to come to past. We are so grateful for this golden opportunity. After receiving all of the transfers our lives will improve.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No! I dont have any new goals. My old goal has always been to build a new house. I have not been able to build my house due to lack of money. My house is not in a good condition. It leaks during the rainy season. I am a farmer. Unfortunately, I am old now and loosing my eyesight. I no longer make farms. I was excited when GiveDirectly came to my town. Being enrolled in its cash program is an amazing opportunity. I am grateful. Hopefully, before the end of this program our lives will get better.

For the past six months, I haven't receive any money from family members even during the time my little brother past off. Fortunately for me, during the beginning of September 2021, my daughter sent me 2000 Liberian Dollars. Therefore, I have considered that day to be the happiest day of my life.

I am a father of so many children and my house can't contain all of them within the town. We have been living in a single and uncomfortable structure for the past five years. If I receive this money from Give Directly, I will used it to build a new home for my family and myself.
