How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that I have acquired 2 bulls for ploughing my farm land. In the next season I will also clear my farm land on time not like before when I hired bulls and farmed late. In addition, I also sleep well on a new mattress. Before these transfers, I slept on worn out dusty mattress without mattress cover which wasn't safe for my health.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well to give me money for acquiring two bulls for ploughing my farm land. GiveDirectly has not done anything.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I purchased two bulls, paid transport, church function( baptism) for my grandchild, bought food, solar energy and paid for medical bills.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness to see that I now have household items that I never imagined to get soon especially new mattress and bedsheets. In addition, I am glad to have paid off my debt.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received my money, I went to my son after seeing the message and he confirmed its Gd money. I became so happy that day.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
That first transfer was spent to a cow and a bull. Then I bought household items like clothes for the children, mattresses and bedsheets. Paid a debt to reclaim land used as a security for money borrowed.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Owning oxen for ploughing is what I have desired ever since. I will purchase oxen that will support me to open land for crop cultivation. Part of this food could be sold in order to support education of our children as well as food for the household. This year, I failed to cultivate enough food because I did not own oxen for ploughing. That left me with no choice but to dig using the hand hoewhich was not sufficient.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is at 1:00pm after eating a meal. My household does not have enough food because I delayed to cultivate due to lack of oxen for traction. I had to dig with a hand hoe in order to plant crops.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is lack of oxen in order to support in animal traction. In my culture, we use oxen to support in traction because the tractors are very expensive to hire. In case you need to hire oxen, it's relatively cheaper but not sustainable in a long run.
