Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at the creek washing one morning when I heard nearly all the citizens of this town shouting that GiveDirectly has sent them a transfer. Within that same time, I have just completed the washing however, I ran home hurriedly to check my phone if GiveDirecty has sent my transfer too. Upon reaching the house, I saw my brother in-law with my phone in his hands awaiting me on our front porch. As soon as he saw me, he said GiveDirectly has sent your transfer and I felt very happy at that moment because I want to build my own house but I did not have the money to undertake the project.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At first, my husband and I have been surviving on agriculture. We have to do hard labour to sustain ourselves but now I'm happy that the hard work has reduced because of the transfer and I'm grateful to GiveDirectly for making my dream of having a house come true.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am planning to buy zinc with my first transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I should benefit from this cash transfer, I want to enlarge my cassava farm. When the cassava is harvested, we will produce fufu and gari which will be sold to earn us more upkeep for the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My greatest joy in the last six months was when all of my kids were promoted to their next classes. Whenever my kids do well, I'm very happy because I wasn't opportune to have been educated.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge currently is finance. My family is barely able to provide food and pay our children school fees.
