Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very fine when I received the message. It was the very first time in my entire life seeing a huge amount of money like that. The astonishing part is that I didn't even work for it. That is so overwhelming. I'm just grateful for this opportunity that will improve the livelihood of me and my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I've received my transfer from GiveDirectly is that, I am able to gather enough food for my family. I'm also able to set up a new business and send my children to school. I am so grateful for this opportunity. GiveDirectly has done extremely well for us. Our lives has improved for the best.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My house has been leaking during the rainy season. And my children has been out of school because I didn't have enough money to pay their school fees. Therefore, when I received my transfer, I was overjoyed. I knew that I could finally resolve most of these challenges.I want to buy zinc to build a house and also pay my children tuition for this academic year 2021/2022. I'm thinking on starting a new business that would create additional source of income to better our lives. Finally, I will save some of my money pending the next transfer. This saved amount coupled with my next transfer will be used to expand my current business. This transfer from GiveDirectly has positively transitioned my live and I'm so grateful for this.
