How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
With a grateful heart, I firstly give thanks and appreciation to GiveDirectly for this great financial favour. For the passed years, I have been staying in my oldest brother house with my three kids, sharing only a room with them. For this reason, since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly, I immediately started buying building materials using money from my three transfers. Now with this recent transfer, I am planning on using the money to pay the contractors the amount that will charge. Furthermore, I am also planning to use a portion of the money to buy some pieces of planks for the windows and doors.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done a tremendous job that cannot be compared to none. From the selection process to payment time they have shown a great level of professionalism and transparency. Every sacrifices and efforts applied in reaching out to us the beneficiaries is highly commandable. Therefore, I have not seen anything wrong done by GiveDirectly. For this reason, I will forever remain grateful to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity. Thanks for bringing so much improvement in my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Before receiving payment from GiveDirectly, I have been facing serious difficulties with where to stay. Presently, I am staying in my eldest brother house with my three children and with just a room to shared with them. Excitingly, I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly and immediately, I started buying building materials to built my own house. Therefore, I used money from all my three transfers and bought building materials such as zinc, zinc nail, and others. However, with my recent transfer I am planning on using a portion of the money to pay the contractors. Furthermore, I am also planning to use a portion to buy some pieces of planks for the doors and windows. The balance money will be spend on buying food stuff for my children and I.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have so many plans for the cash transfer because I believe money solve problems. With the cash transfer, I will use portion of the money to build my house . I will also use the remaining money to start a business and pay people to brush my farm. The reason I want to build a house is because, the one I am living in with my children belong to my big brother, I am not paying rent but only occupying a single room which can not contain my children and myself. But due to lack of money, we are managing to live there.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am the most happiest person today because I find myself being part of the Givedirectly cash transfers program. I heard of GD work in so many communities where others have benefited before. It was my prayer to God that I become part of this program. Today is one of the happiest day for me , I believe if I am successful on this program ,my children and myself will live a better life with the help of Givedirectly. This will transform our lives in a good way.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge is the lack of money. I am a single parent with two children, I need money to support them by providing food for them, paying school fees, and taking care of their wellbeing. I also need money to take care of myself and start a business that will continue to yeild more money. My children father left me and went on the camp for months and has not return , I find life very difficult providing food for the children and myself everyday , because I have no one to help me.
