How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is better in that my sources of income have been diversified. I have a successful poultry farm which is very profitable to me since I always get at least a tray of eggs from it on a daily basis whenever my hens are well fed. Apart from eggs, I always sell some fully grown cock to supplement my income.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I am planning to plant grain amaranth crop whose seeds I shall convert to be chicken feeds. Grain Amaranth seeds are very useful for domestic fowls thus it will save me from buying feeds. When I get a good yield, I shall organize for a field day and use that avenue to advertise the impact of GiveDirectly's financial support on my community's livelihood.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is starting up and successfully running a poultry farm. In my poultry farm, I currently have a total of fifty mature hens and cocks. From them, I have been able to get more eggs which I have been selling to raise more money for my family. The poultry farm is doing well and I always make sales of eggs of atleast 3000 KES per month.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I am expecting my grain amaranth to be ready. I shall convert them to unga feeds which I shall also sell to generate more income to support my family. As a result, there will be a great improvement in my lifestyle since I shall be having a diversified source of income.
