After receiving the transfer i hurriedly paid my daughter school fees and bought zinc and other materials to start my business. My dream was to get a new house and the money i received will help me achieve my dream.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My biggest difference is that i feel so good that im able to pay my daughter school fees and buy zinc for my new structure. I wake up every morning knowing that my prayers have come true to start building a house and will ive in a decent house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I went Sangbay's Town by 10:30 to get network to check my messages. I was overwhelm with joy when i got the transfer message from GiveDirectly. Before the hustle was really tough and i couldnt get money to do what i wanted, my brother gave me power saw to cut wood and burn coal but i had to pay him every month. Sometimes to get money to pay him was difficult especially when customers credit the coal. Also I needed to rebuild my father house which was demolished but with this money ii know my dream of building a decent house is reality. GiveDirectly has gave me hope and i want to say a big big thank you.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Unemployment is my main challenge among numerous challenges. No human can live a better life in the absence of income/money. We live a life that we accept anything that comes our way and eat what is available but not what we want.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Having a partner that understands me always makes me happy. Living with a wife that knows the conditions of the home and stand by you and by you is a blessing. Some days there will be no food at all but yet than still, we will manage to keep the happiness.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will rebuild my parents' broken structure . My parents left a structure with me as my inheritance but it has been broken down since. However, this had really been my every-day thinking. Now that I will be receiving a cash gift from Givedirectly, I will be happy to rebuild my parents' broken house so that their souls would be happy in paradise.
