How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving transfers from GiveDirectly, the major source of my family livelihood had been subsistence farming. There had been no other source of income for us. Notwithstanding, I have been desiring to built a new and bigger house for my family. Presently, the house we are living in has limited space and the size of my family is increasing on a daily basis. For this reason, since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly, I immediately started buying building materials such as zinc, nail and others necessary materials. Now with my recent transfer I used a portion of the money and bought the remaining one bundle. However, the balance money was allotted as workmanship for the contractors. This bring me great Joy seeing my life changing for the better.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has been doing a great job from the beginning of the program up to today's date. The method used by this integrity Organization in selecting qualified household as benefit from this project is unparalleled. Meanwhile, all the sacrifices and efforts applied in reaching out to us the beneficiaries cannot go unnoticed. Finally, I don't see anything that GiveDirectly is not doing quite well. I am forever grateful for this unique opportunity that is transitioning my life for the better.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving recent transfer from GiveDirectly, with my new project of building a new house that will provide space for my family and I, a portion of my transfer was used to buy a bundle of zinc as additional to the three bundles bought previously. The remaining money will be spend on paying the contractors. For the passed years this dream seen impossible to me because I couldn't afford even a cent to start. Happily with my transfer from GiveDirectly, I am grateful that my dream is gradually coming to realization. Thanks to GiveDirectly for this great financial opportunity.
