Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy when I received my transfer and shared the news with my family members. I am so grateful for the transfer.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
So much has changed. I had no food and I could go to bed on an empty stomach but now I have enough food that will take me up to harvest season. I have also bought a bicycle which will ease movement when going to the hospital. My children are also looking very nice with the clothes I bought for them. I am so grateful for the opportunity given to me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my money to buy 24 iron sheets and nails. I am planning of improving the roof of my house. I have been struggling a lot in terms of movement. We are living very far from social services. I have bought a bicycle to ease movement.
I have been struggling with hunger. My produce was not enough and I bought 5 bags of maize. I also used the money to invest in Agriculture. I bought farm inputs, seeds and I have saved part of the money to buy fertilizer. I also used the money to buy clothes and school uniforms for my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means alot for me and my household as it will enable to build a more good looking house as the one I currently live in is small and grass thatched. I also intend to buy some fertilizers for the next growing season so that I harvest enough food and do not have to starve
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest whenever I can afford to feed my kids with a decent meal such as meat and rice as this allows us to bond as a family
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I do not have a stable source of income as I rely on casual labour which does not even fetch enough money to allow me feed and provide for my household as my husband left me for South Africa and is not sending help for us
