What does receiving this money mean to you?
" I have 3 plans for the cash transfer; firstly, I will have my children enrolled in school. The kids are currently out of school due to the lack of finance. The second plan I have is the start up a small business; selling provisional goods including rice, palm oil, fish, and other. I have selected these goods because the profit is high and they are in demand in my community. Finally, the last plan O have for the cash transfer is the build a decent house. My husband and, including our kids sleep in the same room because we do not have finance to build your own house. We would love to have our own house".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"In the last six months, what has made me happy or brought joy to me is an event last month were a brother of mine got us a 25KG bag of rice. This was timely because the household was entirely out of food. This brought so much joy and happiness to my life."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The main challenge I am faced with is finance. Our primary economic activitiy is fire coal burning. This is the process where we cut wood or pieces of sticks and burn it into coal that is used for cooking. There isn't much profit yield from this. The cash raised from this is so small that it is just used to buy food stuffs for the household. We are unable to even send our children to school due to the lack of money. My primary challenge is finance".
