Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On December 9, 2021, I was lying down in my room taking some rest when my granddaughter heard my phone message alarm and told me that my phone was ringing. I didn't believe her at first but I thought it wise to ask my brother to check my phone and see if it was really ringing. When he checked the phone, he told me that GiveDirectly has sent me money on my mobile money account, I was so happy that day because I knew that was a great help for me and my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive the transfer, I will renovate my house. This is because this house is very old now and the roof is leaking badly.
I have been anticipating about renovating it, but I have never had sufficient cash for that. The little money I can earn from producing coal, I used it for my children school and as well as food for the home. So if I am successful to receive the cash, this will be a huge opportunity for meI to change the roof and also do general renovation.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Yes, I have been happy within the time made mentioned of. Like this week, I was very happy and still happy because two of my children completed 9th Grade and also sat the Government national exam; and they are now about to go to Monrovia to continue their education starting with 10th Grade. Thats alone makes me happy; because for children to stay in this community and complete 9th grade is a serious challenge for us and the entire community. This is because the peer pressure from other friends who are married and not going to school on those that are going to school is a serious thing for those going to school to bear. So for them to sailed through that successful, I am indeed happy for that.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
One of the major challenges for me and my family here is how to get enough food for the family regularly. I considered food as a major challenge because the only way we able to provide food for the family is by making farm. But for now, I am not strong and my husband too is not As the result, we are unable to make farm every farming season so as to have more food in the home. Because of this, we always have food shortage in the home.
