How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal has always been to build a new house for my family and I. This goal has driven me long ago. Before receiving money from GiveDirectly, I started to sell fufu just to raise some cash to begin the building of a new house. But the money raised could not buy me a bundle of zinc. So, I am happy that I was enrolled on GD's program. It has empowered me enough.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well for me. I didn't had money to build a new house for my family and I. But thanks to GiveDirectly for helping out. I do not know of any unwell things that GD is doing or has done.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My last transfer was spent on the payment of carpenter and the plastering of my new house which I have built. The house is three rooms. I live in it with my wife and two children. Now, I feel comfortable sleeping in a decent house made of zinc.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No. I have no new goals. Our house is not in a good condition. The roof is tarsh. Rats put holes all in the tarsh. During rainy days, it leaks. We can barely sleep during those days. We put tubs in our rooms to catch water. My goal has been to build a new house. I am excited for this program.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It has given us opportunity to improve our lives. I am so thankful for it.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Being on this program is a great opportunity. I was happy when I received my money. Our house has spoiled. During rainy days it leaks. I used some of my money to buy zinc. I used a little amount to buy food and some other items.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer message on my phone I was very much excited. Since I was born I have never received such a huge amount of money before. So this came as a shock to me. Literally I wonder the whole night thinking what did I do to deserve such a huge amount free. This money has brought so much financial relieved to us as family. The joyed cannot be explained.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
After receiving payment from GiveDirectly, the biggest difference in my daily life is that my life is now filled with so much joy seeing my kids myself neatly looking and going to school. For the past couple of years my children and I have been living in poverty. For this reason I couldn't even afford to buy us clothes to wear. Even their uniforms for school was never decently looking because they had to wear them for years. Helpfully, GiveDirectly came with this mind blowing opportunity. However, with my recent transfer I used most of the money to buy Clothes for all my children and I also bought clothes for myself. The remaining money was spend on buying food stuff for the family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving payment from GiveDirectly, with my desired to buy clothes for my children and I, and also change their school uniforms to a new one, I therefore used most of the money to buy new wearing for all of them including myself. Moreover, I also bought them new uniforms using a portion of my transfer. Finally, the remaining money was spend on food stuff for the family. Thanks to GiveDirectly for making me to feel proud as a father that couldn't afford to put clothes on the backs of his children. We literally wore rags as clothes for a very long time.
