Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Alongside the subsistence farming which I have seen major improvement, I also have an additional goal to start poultry farming. For three months now, I have been buying construction materials in preparation to construct a chicken coop. This project is set to start towards the end of November and by December it will be running. I have made this decision to venture into poultry farming since it is highly productive farming which through the selling of eggs and chicks will earn me a good income which will, in turn, boost other farming operations.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, the biggest difference in my daily life is improved farming. Initially, I was farming on a small piece of land which usually produce a small amount just enough to sustain me. Currently, I have managed to lease some other pieces of land and in addition to the small piece I was having, I can now put a bigger piece of land under production. I also used to produce only one type of crop which was majorly tomatoes, but at the moment I have part of my farm under maize, another part under beans while the other part is under vegetables.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I have great hopes and expectations that my poultry farming will have picked. I am planning to kickstart the project with indigenous breeds of chicken which are easy to manage under a free-range system and later will upgrade to the exotic breeds which can be purely layers of broilers in the near future.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I no longer go around in search of casual work in order to get money. Moreover, I have been able to concentrate on my farm work and considering the time, farm inputs and the large area of land that I have cultivated. I am glad that my hard work has been fruitful since my production has increased compared to the previous ones. Due to this, my life is currently different from the last four months in that I have stored part of the harvest which will last us up to the next harvesting season. In addition, I intend to sell the surplus in order to earn more income that will help me cater to my family's other needs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new or additional goals in the next four months since I am focusing more on investing on the requirements for my poultry project to start operating as soon as possible which includes building a chicken coop, stocking feeds and some chicken as well. After this, I will start a dairy project hopefully with the profits I shall have gotten out of selling the chickens, eggs and my farm produce.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have made a step ahead towards starting a poultry project. So far, I have been able to buy some building materials which include timbers, wire mesh and iron sheets to use in building a chicken coop. This project will be my alternative source of income when GiveDirectly shall have stopped giving us financial support after the years it had promised.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I shall have started rearing chicken which I will use my two subsequent transfers to build a chicken coop and buying a few chicken for the start. In addition to this, I am planning to use the money I will get after selling my french beans to buy a dairy cow. Dairy farming has always been my dream and hopefully, before the end of this year, I foresee myself starting it up. Having the two projects running smoothly has always been my dream to serve as my alternative sources of income.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because my dream of building a better house and buying a dairy cow appear to materialize soon. This is because I have made significant savings through table banking. Moreover, I feel more relieved from the responsibilities that I had before - I was buying most of the basic household needs for my family. Currently, I have left most of those responsibilities to my siblings and focus on my own life because I am about to get married.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The new or additional goals for my life for the next four months is to build a new house. I will use funds from the table banking group that I had joined, the casual work that I normally do at my village, GiveDirectly's transfers, and sale of the vegetables that I have to finance the building. The house that I have is relatively small for a family. Hence, I prioritized on building a bigger one because I am about to get married.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that my dream of owning a dairy cow and building a better house will materialize. I prioritized on buying a dairy cow so as to benefit from the sale of milk- we shall consume some while selling the surplus to fetch some income. On the other hand, I chose to build a bigger and better house because I am about to get married yet I reside in a relatively small house. With the GiveDirectly transfers, I am more confident that I will achieve my dreams. I have been saving most of the transfers through table banking over the past four months. Unlike before when I used to spend most of the transfers on my family, I have saved the money because I have started to focus on my own life and leave most of the responsibilities to my siblings.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change significantly in the next six months. This is because I shall be married by then. Subsequently, I will be tasked with more responsibilities. Luckily, I will be enjoying the support from my wife. Moreover, I will be owning my own cow, and thus getting adequate milk for consumption by my young family while selling the surplus to fetch some income. Besides, I shall be having more income because of the GiveDirectly transfers and the sale of milk. Hence, I thank GiveDirectly for supporting me in preparation for marriage.
