How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Personally I am very happy that GiveDirectly chose to send me these cash transfers. I never thought I would ever build an iron roofed house in my life. I am always beaming with joy when I go to sleep.
Prior to receiving the cash transfers, I was living in a thatched house for over 34 years which was in a really inhabitable state. I have observed that constructing this house has improved my living conditions and the community members accord me more respect.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well to save people from poverty through giving them cash transfers. These cash transfers have uplifted the poor in the community. I would not have acquired all the household items that I now boast of had it not bee for GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
A large portion of the second cash transfer was spent on completing the construction of my house. I also bought a cow with the balance of the cash transfer.
