How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I have a decent and spacious house. I used to live in a small grass-thatched house that was leaking from the inside and the same house could not host all of us comfortably. Its a taboo in our culture to sleep in our house with grown-up children and this was giving me stress because I could take them to my neighbor's house to spend a night there which was so risky. When I received the money from GiveDirectly I built two good and spacious houses that host all of us comfortably. My children are no longers expose to cold at night. I no longer fear to welcome visitors to my house because I have a place to host them.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly does well by giving out cash to the poor to improve their standard of living. I do not find anything that GiveDirectly did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spend part of my second transfer to built a kitchen house, I had an old kitchen which I was being rained on, I also bought a dairy cow and the rest of the money I used it to buy food and clothes for my family members.
