What does receiving this money mean to you?
I planned to add more goods to my business. Currently, I am selling mix goods ( food and none food items). If my business grow, I can use the the profit generated from it to sent my children to school and also provide food for the household. I choose business above all because I have been making this small business since 2 years and I have realized that it is sustainable and is helpful to the household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When my little daughter give birth to a bouncing baby boy on July 14, 2021, I was very happy. I was happy for her life and the baby life as well because she is a teenager just entering her 17 years. She has to dropped from school when she was pregnant. After she gives birth, she was recalled by the school to sit the just ended national examination and she was announced the dux for the school and that brought me the most joy. Today again I am happy because GiveDirectly have come to help us, I am so happy and I pray that God continue to blessed the donors to give more support to GiveDirectly to continue helping us in Africa and meanly Liberia.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge I am facing now is finance. Two of my children have graduated from high school and one of them is attending the community college in Tubmanburg. I really need finance so I can be able to send this girl to college and continue paying fees for the younger ones to complete high. Another challenge is food for the household consumption, we are not cultivating rice for now because rice production is capital intensive and the produce is only for consumption. Therefore, we are engaged in cassava farming because we can sell the products to earn some cash to enable us pay our children school fees and provide food for the household.
