How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal set before receiving this transfer are to give some money to my wife for business purpose and pay advance to contractors to start working on our rice farm. Farming work has commence, Many are cutting trees down to start planting rice. I have been thinking about how to generate money to start engaging our farming activities soon. Farming in this village require spending lot of money and times. Thanks to Givedirectly for the kind gesture. I believe that when my wife starts to make business from our transfer , I will not go out of money. The business profit will be used to cater to my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly has impacted lives of families positively in Liberia through direct cash supports. Givedirectly is one of the best and transparent organizations in Liberia for now. Thanks to Givedirectly for the jobs well done. The only challenge about Givedirectly cash transfers is the difficulties recipients go through when cashing out their transfers from their mobile money accounts. I strongly believe that if Givedirectly work closely with MTN in finding a suitable strategy to cashingout recipients money, recipients stress to withdraw their transfer will be over.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the most recent transfer to buy Christmas clothes for all my children and paid contractors to start cutting down tress on our farm. My wife has gone to Monrovia to buy slippers and used clothes for sell this season. Thanks to Givedirectly for the financial empowerment. I believe that with my transfer from Givedirectly, every suffering in my life will soon be over.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goals after receiving the transfer is for me to build my own decent dirt bricks house with cement in Gbediah town for my family and I to relocate. I am living in one room with my wife and four children. We don't have access to privacy. My family and I have been living in our in-law house for the past three years in this Community. I have been very complacent with such life because of poverty. I always involved myself into making rice farm every year to sell inorder to build our house and have our own place .Things have been very challenging with me due to family burden. The only solution I had in place before receiving this transfer was to ask the town chief in Gbediah town for land space to build a temporary one bed room stick hut for us to live. I am grateful to Givedirectly for the cash support.I believe that with this transfer, I will be owner of a decent house in this town.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly Staffs are not corrupt. They are trust worthy and fair in dealing with recipients. I also admired the decisions of sending recipients money directly through mobile money .With this process, many young people in our community have had the opportunity to achieved their various goals without any one interference or corrupting the process. Having said this, Givedirectly needs to change the style of allowing recipients traveling distances just to collect their transfers. This method is stressful and can even contribute to some illiterate recipients been cheated in the process of cashing out their transfers by mobile money agents. I therefore recommend that for future programming, Givedirectly build rapport with Lonestar cell MTM so that they can send trusted mobile money field agents in the respectives Givedirectly selected districts and villages to help cashout recipients transfers.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of the transfer to buy two bundles of Zinc .I also bought 4 packs of assorted nails and paid contractors to saw the planks. I am not wasting any time to start building immediately. I am currently negotiating with the town chief of Gbediah town for land space so that I can start my plan and fortunately for me, we are at the verge of concluding on where to build. I can't still believe the kind of good gesture Givedirectly rendered to my family. With receiving this transfer, I feel the sense of being empowered in the community. I don't have much to say but to appreciate GiveDirectly for the cash transfer.
