How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have bought a dairy cow. I used to buy milk daily and this was so costly for me. I do not have a continuous source of income, I depend on small scale farming to earn an income through the sales of my farm produce. I had always wished to own a dairy cow but it was not possible. The I received the second transfer I found it wise to invest on dairy farming. I am so grateful because I no longer buy milk. I save the money that I could have used to buy milk to spend on shopping for my family. GiveDirectly has enabled me to achieve this goal.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well by giving money to the poor in the community to build better houses and to buy dairy cows. I do not find anything that GiveDirectly did not do.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of the transfer I received from GiveDirectly on purchasing a Water tank. I used to walk for a long distance to collect clean water. I also bought a dairy cow to cut the daily cost of buying milk. The rest of the money I spent on food for the family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was told my son who stays with me that the transfers had arrived and I was happy beyond measure. I could not hide my joy and a smile was written on my face the entire day.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
From the transfer, I went to hospital to have my legs checked and was given medicine which I have been using and right now, I can walk comfortably. I also feel stronger than before since I can afford food daily that I bought from the transfer. Thank you GiveDirectly for making me feel whole again.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a cow for me to milk and paid for my hospital expenses when I went to have my legs checked, because they have been ailing me for a long time that walking was almost difficult. I also bought food for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Since my age has significantly advanced, handling the routine household chores and income-generating activities is becoming more and more challenging. Hence, receiving this money means that I shall have a more peaceful and fulfilling life on the future because I will be relieved of any tedious task. Also, I will afford to purchase adequate amounts of quality food items.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I wake up feeling happy and healthy. This is a priceless sign of a bright day and good life ahead.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is having significant difficulties with regards to movements. My knees are itching, probably due to athritis, since my age has significantly advanced. I am 83 years old now. Hence, I cannot manage to move and interact with my neighbors as I used to.
