How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am managed to pay school fee for my daughter on time and I am now stress free, my daughter is now learning very comfortably like other students without any worries. I also have very nice comfortable seat I do not need to worry when I have visitors like before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did very well by giving people phones because some of us have never own a phone in their life and this was a privilege to us. It was also a good thing that the money was being sent direct to our phone and not using third party for money to reach us.l am happy and pleased with their system helping the needy. I did not see any thing that Give directly did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to pay secondary school fee for my daughter who was sent home for school fees arrears. My daughter has been staying home for sometimes since I was not able to pay for her school fee arrears, I was so much stressed because I was not sure when I was going to get money to pay for my daughter school fee. I thank God Give directly came to my rescue and I managed to pay her school fee and now my daughter is in school learning like other students. I also spent most of the transfer buy furniture since I did not have something comfortable to sit on, I was sitting on some old furniture which could fall people down. The remaining balance I spent to buy food stuffs and decent clothes to atleast to have something that I can put on very journey.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have been feeling very ashamed because the house I had was almost falling down and caused me sleepless nights but now I live comfortably in a good and better house that I have always looked forward to. Thank you Give Directly.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy because I knew that finally I will have a good house which I have always wanted. The house I had had a leaking roof and it was making my life very uncomfotable.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfer on buying building materials such as timber, nails and iron sheets which I used in building a new house, paid school fees for my children who had been sent home and buying household items such as clothes and food for the family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means so much to me because I am now assured of building a better house because the one I live in now is very old and walls are almost collapsing. I will also use my transfer to buy farm inputs so that I can have better have harvest to ensure there is food security in my house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of day is in the evening when having dinner with my family members. I feel joyful when my children at least get something to eat before they go to bed.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is that I lack a better source of income. Since I survive on casual jobs, I barely earn enough to feed my family, pay school fee for my children and even cater for my medication.
