How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I wasn't fortunate to acquire higher education because of financial constraints. So I'm trying very hard to see that my children acquire a quality education to reach to where I wasn't fortunate to acquire.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, everything was amazing about the program. There was no cheating it all when good enough . That brought joy and hope to everyone. This program impacted our lives and will be remembered forever.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I'm 27 years of age. and I live alone with my two handsome boys. Their father abandoned us when I was pregnant with our second child three years ago. I've been the one struggling to support my family. I usually go into the bush to buy plantain and other items to sell before getting our daily meals. I want to build my own place call home for my boys. So I purchased two bundles of zinc and a few pieces of planks for the work. I hope to begin soon.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was home cooking when I received messages on my phone I opened the phone to read the message. It was Givedirectly who had sent me the money. I started rejoicing with my children in the town.We started capping and singing songs of praise. I ran to the farm to tell my neighbours that Givedirectly had done it for us. Eventually, they all left the farm to go the town to check their accounts and messages.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have been struggling and worrying about how my two sons will go to school. Fortunately for me, Givedirectly help came now with the money I received from then. I'm no more worried about how they will start school again. Things are now fine with me. I'm able to provide sufficient food for my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My spouse left me in 2019. When I was pregnant with our second son, life began to get very tough. I started going into the bush in search of plantain and bananas to sell and be able to sustain myself with the pregnancy and my son. I wasn't able to seek proper antenatal care during the pregnancy because I couldn't afford money for transport to go to the hospital for treatment. When I delivery the child, he didn't show up until my son was a year old. My children haven't been to school So I'm planning on enrolling the two of them in school in the nearby town, because we don't have school. I also intend on building a house of my own.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The house in structure I am residing in is not conducive for my kids and I, especially during the raining season my younger son always coming down with strong cold that can sometimes lead to him spending a week or two in Fish town hospital. Therefore, if I am qualify to receive this grant, I will use huge portion of the transfer to build a comfortable dwelling place of my own. It has always been on my mind to build a house but; it is so difficult as a single mother, who is not capable of brushing farm to plan crops. I normally help my friends who are married to stratch their farm, and during harvest season they will call me to harvest rice.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last sick months there was nothing that brought happiness to me because my husband who should have been making farm for the kids and I , choose to divorce me for another woman.
