Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The day I received my transfer was a joyous one for me, because there are things that I wanted to do for myself but didn't have the money to. When GD came here and told us that they were sending us transfer and surely did, I was really excited.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life now is that I am now able to provide all the things I need for my daily life like food, medicine etc.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I paid my child medical bills, I bought food, I am molding blocks to build a house for myself and I saved some of my transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I know the importance of education and want to become a better person in the future who will cater to my family. Since I graduated from high school two years ago, I have not gotten any job opportunity to work and either sponsor myself or have someone to sponsor me. I have gotten involved in unskilled jobs to get money and sponsor myself in school but it has not materialised. So when I receive this transfer, I will sponsor myself in school because I know what it means to be educated. Another thing that I will do when I receive this money is to build a two room house for my family because the one that I am in presently is not decent for me. The house leaks whenever the rain falls so when I build my own house, I will make it decent to my liking. If there will be any money that will remain, it will be used to start a small business.
What is the happiest part of your day?
At the beginning of this year, my spouse was pregnant and I was always worried about her mainly when it comes to having a safe delivery. Fortunately for me, as God could have it, she gave birth two months ago to a bouncing baby boy. This made me very happy because she bore me a boy. I was glad to welcome my new baby.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My challenges are many but the main one is about taking complete care for my baby and his mother. Getting food to feed my family is a major challenge for me. Sometimes, I will have to beg my friends for their motorbikes, so I'll l that I can run traffic to get little money and provide food for my family. Another challenge that I'm faced with is with the issue of where I sleep. It is not conducive and for each time the rain falls, my belongings get wet. For the fact that I have a child and every other day rain falls here, I don't feel fine about that. What to do, I am not having the money to make my child live the life I want for him and it makes me sad.
