What does receiving this money mean to you?
Life in this village is really hard! I live in a mud house with thatch on top of it. Rats resides in then, this causes it to leak when the rain falls and at the end of every year I have to change then. It is a difficult task for a man at my age. When I received this money from GiveDirectly I will replace my thatch roof with Zinc roof, I will also used some portion of it to pay my children school fees and invest the rest in business. My children is my future, so educating them remains a priority for me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
As a man I understand that as long as I live there will always be some challenges but what bring me happiness is the hope that I will be put on GiveDirectly program and received the benefits that will enable to solved some of my problems.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been through so many challenges from last year up to now and most of then remains unsolved. As of now, I want to pay my children school fees but I'm not able to do that because I don't have money. I'm doing sand business but of recent things has not been moving fine with my business. The second challenge is to change the thatch from my roof and replace it with Zinc, that will enable me to rest well when the raining season comes.
