How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I have bought cows that I will pay as dowry. My mind is at peace now because I'm soon fulfill the traditional requirement of a married man in my culture. I would have taken long without paying dowry because I didn't have money to buy cows.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well to give me and many people in my community unconditional cash that has improved our standard of living. GiveDirectly has only done good on my side.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase 4 heads of catle that I intend to use for paying dowry. I also bought a bag of ground nut, food, few clothes for myself and I have saved UGX 80,000 to use later for planting and weeding my crops.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am happy and healthy because I spent part of the transfer to treat myself. This has enabled me to carry on with my duties. More so I bought cows that I intend to use to marry my wife and support my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
At that moment I was hard up after our salaries had been delayed. It was such a relief when I received this money. I was extremely happy and overjoyed that God had answered my prayers.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first cash transfer to purchase two cows worth UGX1,000,000 and UGX300,000 was spent on buying household items. I spent UGX150,000 on medical treatment and UGX250,000 was spent on buying food and other basic necessities.

The biggest hardship i have faced in life is working without salary. I have spent a year at work but not in payroll.
