Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so excited when I saw a text message about my transfer. I danced and my life was full of joy. The transfer has transformed my life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Buying a piece of land is something I never imagined. The money I received has changed my life for the better. Now I have a piece of land for farming and food production will be increased. I have also managed to buy 2 bags of fertilizer. To be honest, I struggle a lot to find money. GD has given me an opportunity to smile.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am so grateful for the transfer I received. I had no fertilizer and I bought 2 bags of fertilizer which I will apply in my maize field. I had no land for farming. I thought it wise to buy a piece of land for farming. The land amounted MK 150000. I also bought 4 bags of maize for food processing. Part of the money was used to buy kitchen utensils such as basins, plates, pots and cups. I also used the money to buy beddings.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
As you can see i am staying in a very tiny house with everything there clothes, utensils, sleeping place and bucket so this money will be meaningful to me and my family as i will build a big and spacious house so that i will be able to put things inorder like a bedroom will be a bedroom and it Will also include a store room whereby i Will be putting utensils and other things. I have a baby who is clawing and is very risk to leave him alone in the house as he can drown in a pale of water since is very small. Depending on how we find money through casual labour we only managed to build this small bed sitter which is not conducive but we are just coping
What is the happiest part of your day?
Our tradition culture which happened last month brought joy to me as i was able to celebrate with others. This traditional culture is whereby we celebrate young girls who are just started their menstruation and we advice them on how best they can licr their life.
