How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in many ways because I had no proper house, I had a leaky house that I shared with all my children meaning there was no privacy. I also managed to buy a donkey that I am currently using for transporting peoples commodities to the market for pay and I earn cash that I use in buying food and paying school fees to my children, y children no longer get sick frequently because our house is now warm and safe unlike the old one that exposed us to harsh weather of extreme cold nights and I no longer have to borrow money from friends and relatives to take my children to the hospital. My income have improved and I am able to feed my family very well unlike when I used to work long hours in peoples farms and earn too little money to meet our daily needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly did well because giving cash meets divergent needs and encourage handwork because each household had to invent their own way of using the cash. They did nothing wrong based on my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer in buying a donkey which I currently use for commercial transport of commodities to those that are going to the market or drawing for villagers water from the far off rivers and streams. I also bought cows that will eventually give birth and increase my livestock ownership and produce milk both for family use and surplus for sale. The remaining part of the money I used in buying my family members clothes and food.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced in my life is lack of enough resources to buy a piece of land. The piece of land we have been staying belonged to another person, who gave it to us out of good will and could repossess it any time.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is night, because this is the time i have to be with my family after my day to day engagement. As a mother, having my children around me makes me happy.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will be a great economic step in my life. I will buy household items like chairs and bed since i lack the items, i will use part of the transfer to expand my business.
