How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently, my life is different because I am filled with gratitude towards GiveDirectly for giving me money that I used to finally pay my son's tuition fees for his last year and semester in University level. He was now home with no hope of finishing his school. Initially, I used to pay his fees using the income I got from farming but this time, the production and prices were low and I had run out of options to get money to complete his fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that has helped me to carry out most activities such as paying my son's tuition fees, plastering my house among others that needed money to accomplish.
On the other hand, it has done good as it has as well managed to keep families together. This is seen when families live in harmony using and planing for their transfer together.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of my second transfer Ugx 1000000 to pay tuition fees for my child who is in University.
I then spent the balance of Ugx 450000 my second transfer to buy cement and pay labor that I used to plaster my already existing house.
I used the balance of my transfer to cater for some of my household needs like bedding, food among others.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I sleep in a cool house that I mop compared to the days when my house was dusty and looking ugly. I also have a peace of mind since I have managed to clear my son's tuition arrears for the previous semester.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I became very happy when I received this money like I almost died due to happiness. I celebrated with my other colleagues in the village with all forms of dances, ululating and among others.
The reason why the village was is in full joy is because our Muzungu meaning white man has saved us from extreme poverty.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received this transfer, I decided to plaster the inner part of my house since it has been looking bad. I purchased building materials like, sand, cement and paid labor all totaling ugx 520000.
I have a son pursuing a bachelors degree in the university and I had defaulted paying his tuition the previous semester so I paid the tuition balances and it took ugx 1000000.
The remaining ugx 180000 I used it for buying household items like mattresses and bed sheets.
