How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The house I am currently living is a family house and is overly crowded with family members. My new goal is to erect a new house as a means of providing a spacious and comfortable dwelling as my permanent residence. We are all striving to live a better life, but things have been really difficult.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes I have a new plan of building a new house. The house I'm currently residing in belong to my late mother. We are many and I don't want future embarrassment. So I have decided to build my own place for my children and I.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done more than well for me. I'm so much happy for all of the good things she has done for our people in this district.

I bought one bunch of zinc and a cartoon of nails. I bought some clothes for my children during the Christmas season and I also bought food and other household items for our upkeep.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Ii was very happy with I received this money. Because my son ended Grade Six and I never had money to send him to Monrovia to go to school. I was also thinking about how to raise money to pay the other children school fees for this academy year. My main source of income is farming but my farm didn't yeld this year.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The money has done lots of good things for me and my family. My son who completed grade six is now in school in Monrovia. The other three children are in school as well. I'm more relaxed now than before, because some of my financial problems have been solved I'm praying for those that gave us this money to live longer and get this get double of this money in return.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I paid my son school fees, who went to attend in Monrovia and I paid the other three children school fees in Big geveh. I still have the balance money in saved keeping waiting to add it on my second transfer to buy my two bundles of zinc for my new.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"Our primary plan for this money is to send our kids to school. My parents did not send me to school. I don't even know how to spell my name. Whenever I see some of my childhood friends who're now educated, I feel ashamed and mocked. I don't wish for my kids to have this experience. So my husband and I have spent all our lives struggling to educate our children. It has however not been easy since our only source of income is subsistence farming. Produce from our farm can barely raise enough money to pay our kids tuation. School is about to open and we don't have a cent for tuation this year. So the money from Givedirectly will be used strictly for tuation".
What is the happiest part of your day?
The news about this GD assistance program have brought me the greatest joy and happiness since the past six months. The Covid-19 crisis has caused great hardship in the country. School is about to open. Income from our farm can barely send our kids to school. It was just clear that my kids were not going to be enrolled this year because of finance. It has been a great worry on my family. So, considering what we've been hearing about GD, I feel that their coming to our town is a game changer. I'm confident that my kids will be enrolled this year.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"Earning ecough money to support our children remains our primary challenge for us. I am uneducated in the western style. The only Skill my parents gave me is farming. Farming is both labor and capital intensive. We cannot afford the cost of advanced farming Equipment. Pest control is another great challenge for farmers in Big Geveh. Additionally, due to the bad road conditions, much of our products are damaged before they get to the market. As a result, produce from our farm cannot be sold at a fair price. To be frank, the only reason I'm still into subsistence farming is because that is the only job that I know.
