Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was lying on my sick bed when I heard the news in the ccommunity.I quickly gave my phone to my daughter to go check for me and she confirmed that my money has arrived. I felt total relief on my sick bed. I felt very fine and hopeful that I was about to start taking treatment to get on my feet again. I held my hand In the air waving and telling Givedirectly thank you. I wish I could walk, i would have danced all over the place.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is the joy in my heart. I did have the hand to do the things I did with my money, but the money has given me power to execute my plans.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent some of the money on school fees. I bought one mattress to replace the old sponge I was sleeping on, and I bought two bags of rice to eat. I saved the rest to fully recover through the treatment my son is giving me and start a business.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have always wished to own a decent house; receiving this money means that my dream will finally come true. I will buy zinc and construct a house with it and use the rest to buy furnitures.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The greatest challenge for my husband and I is getting food on a daily basis. Last month, we were in a very tough situation where we didn't have enough to eat. My son who lives in Monrovia came to visit us and brought some money for food. This made me very happy because my burden was finally lifted.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My husband and I are no longer strong enough to do any hard labor to provide food for us. The major challenge that we are currently faced with is getting food to eat.
