How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to complete my house construction. Since I have started to received my transfer from GiveDirectly, it has been my plan to build a new house. Because my present house is very old and no longer comfortable for my family and I. It is a thatch roof house that leaks too much when it rains. So, receiving this last transfer has given me the opportunity to buy enough food for those workers to plaster the house that I have constructed.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Everyday I am grateful to GiveDirectly for reaching my village. Because of GD's program, I am going to fulfil a long awaited dream my husband and I have had. This, I never imagine doing soon enough (building a new house). So I find receiving cash directly and making my own decision on every money received from GiveDirectly as something so well that GD is doing, for us the poor people. We could not have done it on our own. As for things not done well by GD, I am not aware of any.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my most recent transfer on the purchase of food for the plastering of my house. It has always been my dream to build a new house for my family and I. But there has been no money to do so. Until I got on GD's program and started to received cash. Getting on this program has really help me and my family. We are about to live in a more comfortable house that will take us long enough.
