How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Previously, the amount of money that I used to earn has enough to sustain my family, Currently, I am so proud to say that I no longer feel so burdened like it used to be in the past. Receiving this money and complimenting my income has given me ease in terms of providing food and other household expenditures without borrowing from neighbors and friends which made me the talk of the village before. In addition, having a decent home in my homestead is another goal I have achieved as well over the last four months after combining my savings with the transfers received.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to save on a monthly basis. I intend to use the saving in buying builiding materials and cement the house that I constructed with the money I previously received from GiveDirectly.I believe that having a decent house will make me a proud man and would be able to speak without fear among my peers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have been able to build a new house in my own homestead. Watching my children grow has always reminded me that I needed to have a homestead. Receiving GiveDirectly transfers enabled me to bring this dream to a reality and now my family and I are equally so happy making me a proud and responsible parent.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation for the next six months to use the saved transfers for and buy a goat for rearing purposes. I am planning to start a goat rearing project because they do well in my area. I am also interested in this because they multiply very fast and with the increased numbers in the near future, I might sell the grown ones to sort financial crisis such as medical bills if one of my family member is sick and has a lumpsum bill at the hospital.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have been able to plan and draw a budget on how to spend my transfer and this has enabled me to easily borrow from the local shops. Before the transfer, I did not have good credit records because I could hardly pay the debts I took from the shop due to low income from casual work. Anytime I had an emergency and went borrowing, I would be told to first clear the previous debts. Ever since I started receiving these transfers, I have been able to clear my debts and as a result, I have good relations with my neighbors.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Currently, I have been saving some money towards the construction of my home. For the next four months of my life, I have a goal of continuing to save part of my money so that I ensure I construct a decent house in the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I mainly depend on casual and manual jobs to get my daily subsistence but considering that I am the main dependent in my family, the little that I make from these jobs is barely enough for my family's needs. The last four months have been quite different in that I am financially stable now that the transfers from GiveDirectly have complemented what I make from the casual jobs and right now I can take care of my family's needs without a problem as compared to before.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to have bought a cow for rearing so that I can add to the ones that I already have. This will help me raise money for other needs in the family by selling some. I can as well leave them as an inheritance for my children which I know will be of very important to them as we consider cows a source of wealth in my area.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different in that I am able to buy food with GiveDirectly's transfer hence we have enough to feed on unlike before when food was insufficient where we could have a meal or none hence getting a balanced diet meal was a problem until my health was poor and compromised. But currently my health including for my family members has really improved and we are living happily.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to save and buy an ox. Oxen are known for cultivation in my community hence I will use it to cultivate my farm and also get an extra income through cultivating my neighbours' farms at a fee. Finally, keeping animals such as a goat also comes as a source of pride according to our culture and tradition. Their milk production which is a very essential thing in human life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Before GiveDirectly came to my village I used to relied on casual jobs to make a living and the pay was meagre that was not able to save for instance I was living a life of hand to mouth. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have been able to buy a cupboard where I can place my utensils in a clean place. Through this, there has been a reduction of diseases among my household members unlike before I stored my utensils on a basin and they were exposed to dust and even the dogs could leak them when we were out of site. I am so great full for this support it has changed our standard of living.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is raising money for the family, because the motor cycle taxi business cannot raise enough money to feed the family and pay fees to my children. At times i get so little money that only carter for fuel and the owners dues leaving me with nothing for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest moment is usually in the evening having had a safe day and sharing a meal eaned from the hard work and playing with my kids as we make stories with my wife.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy a new motor bike for my taxi business since the one I am currently using is a hired one whose benefits are shared amongest the cost of repairs and the owner and that leaves me with very little money to buy food and meet other family costs.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement was building my iron sheet roofed house from the small grass thatched that was leaking and caused me embarassment amongest my peers as they would always mock me that my house was easy to burn like a birds house because it was grass thatched. Currently we do not have worries during rains and the house is spacious enough for us.
