How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has got better, because I am building a permanent house that will move to after completion. I have got back my acre of land that was taken because of the debt. This money has also relieved me from the debt burden that I had. Previously, the money lender kept putting me on pressure because of his money and he was threatening to sell my acre to recover his money since I had failed to pay it. The house that I currently stay is open from up because the thatch has greatly become scarce.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well to send me unconditional cash that I have used to construct a permanent house and pay off a debt that I had. GiveDirectly has only done good to me.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on purchasing 12 pieces of iron sheets, 1 trip of bricks, timber and labour for roofing at UGX 1,002,000. I paid off a debt of UGX 600,000 and got back my acre of land that had acted as security. I also bought a bag at UGX 30,000 for my self.
