What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on top-up Secondary school fee for my 2 children(10,000 KES), started a plastic shoe business (4,000 KES) , bought seats (13,000 KES), dry corn for family consumption (7,500 KES), school uniform , books and shoes for the children (9,000 KES) and the balance on miscellaneous expenses.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I never had hope that my children could ever join High school, two I never had hope of ever building a decent house. Last, these days I am able to save 100 KES per day as a member of a Women Group, using proceeds from the small business that I set up from part of the transfer. All these would not be possible without GD support.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD's system of reaching recipients with money Directly is wonderful, and has impacted positively on standards of living.In addition , GD money has brought peaceful co-existence since when there is money people live peacefully with one another.. However, my recommendation is that GD could give out transfers a few more times for more meaningful change, since the targeted population normally live in extreme poverty by the time GD enters a village.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on building a descent house since my previous one was almost falling down, paid school fee for my child who was joining a secondary school and bought a bag of maize to sustain my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my is that I now have a descent house and Am able to pay school fee for my child to facilitate her education.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent most of my first transfer on a sofa set because i had no chairs in my house and it was an embarrassment. I also bought a bag of corn and a sheep as investment for future financial sustainability.

I was away and when i came back and saw the text message, i knelt down and thanked God for His favor. I felt so peaceful in my heart.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Firstly, I intend to use part of the transfer to build my own house, because currently, I'm staying in my sister in-law's kitchen. Secondly, I plan to use another part of the transfer to pay school fees for my two children who are in class eight, and are expected to join secondary school next year. Lastly , I plan to use the remaining amount to start a small business of selling second-hand clothes for family income and sustainability.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Having bought two sheep with savings from my small business, is the achievement I'm proudest of.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Providing food for my family ona daily basis, is the biggest hardship I have faced, due to unreliable source of income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon, when I am relaxing, after my children have had their lunch and gone back to school.
