What did you spend your third transfer on?
I was using open defecation for nature calls given that I did not have a better or rather I completely did not have a pit latrine. So, when I received my third transfer, I had to think of sinking a pit latrine first. My environment is now open defecation free. The remaining amount, I spent on clearing school fees arrears for my son who had cleared his secondary school but did not manage to have his certificate for not clearing the fees and to pay school fees for another one who was joining form one at the time.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on building a permanent toilet in my own homestead.I also renovated my house by repairing the roof which had a big whole which one day a theft broke in my house through the gab and stole our cell phones.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have managed to build a permanent toilet in my own homestead hence this is a health prevention measure I have been longing for to reduce fecal oral disease which had been re-occurring most frequently since we as a family used to practice unsanitary way of disposing wastes that is using the the bush to defecate and also running away when I see a community health volunteer works who came to do her routine follow-up if I had constructed a latrine is now I long gone story. Thanks to GiveDirectly.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy iron sheets to roof my pit latrine and also to pay laborers who were digging my pit latrine
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the money, I was very happy because I have always longed to build a pit latrine in my own compound but could not due to lack of money, I was tired of going to other people's latrine. Thank you GD for the transfer.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of money to send my children to school. Education is the best a parent can offer a child and being unable to provide this makes me feel so embarrassed.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when we share some meal as the children speak out their hopeful future.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means the beginning of a hopeful future in my life and entire household. I would like to pay fees for my son that dropped out due to lack of school fees and use the remaining part to construct a latrine. Construction of latrine will improve my health and sanitation and control diseases like cholera.
