How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has greatly changed for the good in that, I fully completed the construction of the house I used to sleep in. Before, it was incomplete and not convenient for me to stay in it. It lacked windows, doors, and had a dusty floor.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well in completing the construction of my permanent house. As per now, there is nothing bad that GiveDirectly has been done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on building materials such as sand, cement, bricks, and roofing materials worth UGX 890000. I paid the builders UGX 200000 and bought a bicycle worth UGX 300000. The balance was spent on a mattress, gifts and leisure.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I can change the diet in my household which was very hard back then before I received these transfer from GD. My house looks beautiful and I have a lighting system and I nolonger use paraffin as source of energy.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt a lot of happiness because I could buy food in the house, I completed my house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received GD transfers, I completed my house @ ugx 840000, I bought a wheelbarrow @ ugx 130000, I gave my children and my spouse ugx 530000 for buying their basic needs. I also spent ugx 50000 for feeding both the builders and household members. I also bought a solar system @ 150000 which has brightened my compound.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to buy oxen for ploughing, build a good kitchen for my home.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the noon time when I have had a meal.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of oxen to help in the cultivation activity. Many times, I cultivate late when other people have already finished because I don't have my own oxen. This in the end usually earns me low yields
