How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly, as a single Mother building a decent and comfortable house for my family had been my priority. For this reason I started buying building materials my building materials from the initial stage of my transfers. However with my recent transfer, I used part of the money and bought some pieces of planks for the roof, windows and doors. Additionally, I used the balance money and pay the carpenters that did the roofing of the house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done so much remarkable things for us the needy. As a single mother GiveDirectly stood by me this school year with their financial assistance and my three children were enrolled in school. Additionally, it because of their great financial opportunity that I am building my very first decent house with zinc roof. The level of professionalism shown by the intergity organization is unbelievable. Therefore I haven't noticed anything bad done by GiveDirectly. Thanks to GD for all you did for us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving my recent transfer, with the desired to built a new and decent house for my family and I to move out of the old thatched house with leakage roof to a decent and new house, for this had been my dream all along. Therefore I used money from my previous transfers and bought some of my building materials such as zinc, zinc nail and roofing nail. However with my recent transfer I used some of the money and bought some pieces of planks for the roofing, doors and windows. Finally, the remaining money was spend as payment for the carpenters that did the roofing. I am so much grateful to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was extremely happy when I received the message. I'm sleeping in tarsh house and now that I'm fortunate to get on the GiveDirectly program my life will get better. I was so overwhelmed seeing that money on my phone.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that my family and I will live a better life. When things are hard we worry every time how to feed our family and pay school fees. That makes me sick and I have been praying to God for help now I'm excited that He(God) has heard my prayers and send me help through GiveDirectly. My life will never be the same again. Joy over flows my heart I dont even know how to describe it.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I plan to build a new house because the one I live in is not in a good condition. It gets worse during the rainy season. The roof over my house is tarsh and the rats live in the tarsh roof. They eat it up and put holes all in it. When its raining then we dont sleep. We have to stay awake to put dishes to stop the water from spoiling our things. I'm also planning to use some of the money to pay my children balance school fees.Im so grateful to God for being enrolled in this program. I will live a better life from now.
