What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer to buy iron sheets that cost me 21,000 KES,I will use them to buy build a new house as my current house is leaking. I also bought sheep worth 15,000 KES. The remaining I spent on food.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has been different in that now I am able to feed my family with ease without too much strain. I am so happy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GiveDirectly gives unconditional cash to its recipients. This is the best part of it all. On the other hand I think they should look for a better way of making the program sustainable to those who receive transfers. This is what they do not do well in.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I dug and built a permanent latrine of 20 ft and 13 iron sheets at a total cost of 12350 KES , I spent 13500 KES on 4 sheep and a goat, 4000 KES on a solar panel, we sent 20150 KES to my in-laws to buy 20 iron sheets and build a house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life that I can now mention is that I am now having a latrine that has improved my sanitation. We don't need to worry anymore where to seek for both long and short calls.

l spent 3500 kshs to buy table, l also bought 1 sack of maize at 2800 kshs the remaining balance l spent to buy food in the house.

l am planning to build pit-latrine.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy wire mesh, sand, cement, round poles, nails and iron roofing sheets which I will use to build a pit latrine. The remaining transfers will be used to buy a dairy cow.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having worked as a community leader and managed to enable some of my village members to get educated up to college level.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to pay school fees for my children. If I am unable to raise the required fees they may drop out of school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is around midday when I am getting ready to have my lunch. Whenever I am having a meal together with my family I always feel very happy.
