How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
If it wasn't for GiveDirectly, I wouldn't have achieved most of my dreams. I didn't have a reliable source of income thus I couldn't afford most of the things that I had always wanted to have. I'm glad through their transfers I was able to purchase a cow. I am planning to keep it and make sure it grows healthy and reproduces. With this cow I know I will never be poor again. This is how different my life currently is from the way it was four months ago.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
For the next four months of my life, I have an additional goal of saving some money so that I can use it to construct a house. Currently, I do not have a house, I'm staying in my grand mum's house. I feel I'm of age to have my own house. I do not feel comfortable staying in my grand mom's house anymore. This is why I need to save diligently to ensure I build my house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is the pride and joy I have for having bought a cow. Not only will I benefit from milk out of it but I'll also have additional cows after it has given birth. I am glad I will now have an additional source of income that will sustain me. At least I will now not depend on casual jobs anymore.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
For the next four months of my life, I have an additional goal of raising some money so that I can construct a house. Currently, I'm staying in my grand mother's house and I find it so uncomfortable. I will not settle until this dream is achieved. The house I have constructed will always remind me of GiveDirectly.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is losing my mother who passed on last year. Having been raised by single parent, my mother had been my pillar and her absence has greatly affected me emotionally.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I meet friends from school and we catch up on the day's activities as we share our experiences and laugh together.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on purchasing building materials (iron-sheets, timber and nails) and building an iron-roofed house.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of was helping my grandmother on her farm during the last planting season. My support resulted into a bumper harvest of six bags of maize which has enabled us to have enough food for our family.
