How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I have peace of mind. I have my financial situation under control and I believe it will be like that for a long time coming. I have a business that helps in generating income for the family on a daily basis. This is because of the transfers as I was able to save and set up the business. I am now in a good place as I will not be running around pressuring my husband to take care of the family on his own. I am able to relieve him of some responsibilities.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a plan of buying building materials like iron sheets to use in building a new house as I am still live in my father-in-law's compound.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I am a proud owner of livestock that I was able to buy with the transfers and now rearing as a source of financial security for the family. I have always had a dream of venturing into raising livestock but I could not as I did not have any stable source of income to do so. I was a very happy person when I started to receive the transfers as I knew the dream was going to come true. Now, I have a fallback plan whenever we are faced with any financial constraints. My children's education is well invested in and I do not have to worry where I will get the money to pay their school fees at all.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my family will be living in their own compound and in a beautiful and spacious house that accommodates them comfortably. I look forward to having a beautiful home that will be the envy of the entire village.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have always seen my neighbours herding their flock and I used feel a lot of jealousy since I never had my own. Ever since I received this transfer, I have my own and I feel very happy.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I would want to start up a business and buy seats.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have my goats which I can go herding like my neighbours unlike before when I used to see others herd when I was at home, I have been eating well and balanced diet, my children have all the school requirements unlike before and I know I will never struggle during the dry season because I have water tank where I have stored water.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
Apart from my earlier planned goals, I would want to start up a business.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life, is difficulty in providing meals for my growing family. I only relied on washing clothes for my neighbors to earn a living.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day, is late in the evening when I have laboured all through the day and managed to provide food for my family. I always feel very happy when I share meals together with my lovely two daughters.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Plumbing
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of in life, is having built my savings and contributed towards purchasing materials that we used to construct our iron roofed house. In the past, we were living in a pathetic grass thatched house.
