How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have lifestyle diseases that are usually very hard to manage as they require constant medications that are also quite expensive. These transfers have made my life manageable because I can now afford to buy the required medications on time which has kept me from any attacks which were very frequent in the past.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have wanted to build a new kitchen for some time now so that I can have a separate place to cook away from my main house, but due to financial constraints, it has been quite tough. I do not have any source of income other than subsistence farming and most of my transfers have always been spent on other critical needs such as medication and foodstuff which had derailed this project. With the realization that the project will soon come to an end, I now feel that I need to sacrifice and ensure I put up the house as soon as possible.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Having no source of income and only depending on farming, I have always relied mostly on these transfers for my personal and household needs. Over the past few months, especially when we failed to harvest anything from the farms after the ravaging drought that was witnessed in our area, I have had a much easier time than I would have without the transfers. This is because whenever I received the money, I would buy most of the household needs without having to beg from my children or relatives.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I hope that I will have constructed the new kitchen that I have been planning to have for some time now. So far, I have managed to buy some of the required materials using part of the transfers I have been receiving and my prayer is that by the time this project ends, I will have the house. Having this kitchen will bring much difference in my life because I will no longer have to cook in my main house which is usually very uncomfortable especially when we have to use firewood that produces smoke which is not only harmful to our healths but also damaging to the roof of my house.
