How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that my son now have his own sleeping room and there he does not need to look for a place to sleep in from my co-wife's house as he used to do before. He has also improved in his studies because he has a very comfortable and conducive place to study in. I also now have a very comfortable place where my visitors too can spend as compared to before when they were sleeping in my kitchen.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My elder son had a problem of not having a sleeping room. He used to sleep in my co-wife's house where he was not very comfortable because there were so many conditions and complains. So when I got the cash transfer I thought of building for my son house and I spent the whole of the cash transfer to buy building materials and built for my son a house. My son now have a very nice comfortable house to sleep in, where privacy is paramount. He no longer goes to my neighbors to spend a night there. I am also at peace because I no longer experience so much complains from my neighbor and my son too. The remaining balance I spent to pay for he school fee after he was sent home for the arrears. I am glad I managed to pay his school fee and now he is in school learning very comfortably like other students.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that my children spend more time at home now that we have a TV at home this makes me feel good as a parent. I also get enough sleep and rest given that I have a new comfy mattress this makes me more effective during the day.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfers, the entire house broke into excitement and celebration. I was not sure of receiving the transfers until I saw the mpesa message showing that my mpesa account had been credited with a huge amount of money. I had never received such an amount before.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My house seemed empty to me as compared to my neighbor's house. My children could rush to their friend's house after school to watch TV because we lacked one. So when I received the transfer the first thing I bought was a TV. I also bought other household items like sofa seats, carpet, and utensils to fill my house. My mattress was worn out so I decided to pick a high-density mattress to enhance my sleep. The remaining amount I bought clothes for my children and food stuff.
