How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in that, I have a lot of happiness because I have constructed a beautiful house. At this old age of mine, I can not be in position to look for grass for thatching the huts but all thanks goes back to GiveDirectly for the support. Cattle rustlers took all my cattle back in the days but through these transfers, I have been able to own livestock once again in my life. Before getting these transfers, I used to suffer sleeping in a leaky grass thatched house. I was also faced with a challenge of looking for grass which is no more because I have built my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done wonderful things in my life by supporting me with cash transfers. These transfers have helped me construct a house, buy household items and livestock. In my opinion everything went on well with GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer to complete the house which I had started building using the first transfer. I spent ugx 890000 for plastering, flooring and installing doors and Windows. I used ugx 480000 for buying a cow. I bought beddings, two mattresses and a bed at ugx 210000. I gave my ugx 20000 for helping me and I used 32000 for treatment.
