How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
We believe that poverty was eradicated because we have not faced shortage of food since the day we received the transfers.
We now own a cow which we hope that when calves, we will have a source of income from the sale of milk from it. The milk is also food to my children hence I would not spend most of the money in procurement of milk for family.
We have a good house which is more spacious and decent than the one which existed before tranfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does good by offering financial support to poor people to help them rise beyond their means in terms of unconditional cash transfers. There is really nothing that GD does wrong!
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfers in building a house. I also spent the rest of the amount in buying food for my family since we were running low on the stock tgat we had.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
It has been hard for me to pay School fees for my child and receiving this money means the struggle will soon be mitigated and my child will go to School uninterrupted.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morking after seeing a new day. I thank God for the day and start daily chores.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been desiring to increase the size of land under cultivation. The small piece of land which is 0.1 of an acre cannot sustain the whole family and thus working as a casual worker has been the order of the day and this has been the biggest hardship I have faced in life.
