My dream has been to buy a cow. My family is one that consumes milk on a daily basis. It has been my duty to buy milk on a daily basis to meet my children's demands. It has not been easy but I have to keep struggling. I believe that owning a cow will sort this one once and for all.

I no longer sell my properties to pay school fees for my children The challenge of paying school fees had been too burdening for me and the only way that I would settle these bills was to sell little properties that I had which included cows. The biggest difference that I now feel is that my elder son just completed his secondary education and I never sold anything to clear his fees. Additionally, he was never sent back to collect the areas. I did it from the monthly transfers that I received.

In six months' time, I will have completed paying school fees for my children who are in secondary school. This will be a milestone that I will have made in my life and my family at large. My hope is to also settle and think about how I will put investment thoughts together to help me venture into an income-generating activity that will sort our lives as we go along.

There is a really big difference that has been registered in my life since I received these transfers. I am no longer struggling in casual labor the way I used to before because it cushioned me a great deal. I no longer have difficulty in buying food for my family. Again, my ability to pay school fees has been eased and therefore my children will study without being sent back home.

We started a merry-go-round in our village with 8 members where each have been contributing 500 KES monthly. As I wait to receive this money when my turn comes, I have an additional goal to purchase a sheep. It is my hope that this is an investment that will soon increase in number. I will comfortably pay for my children's school fees whenever I sell them.

By then, I was fully depending on the casual labor where I would work the whole day on my neighbor's farm within the village and sometimes work on my subsistence farming whenever there was no work to do at my neighbor's place. When I Received the money, I felt relieved and sorting school fees issues started becoming easy. I am no longer stressed about their fee payment and therefore my concentration on other income generating activities is something I am now proud of.

I expect to have started leasing out my piece of land since by then two of my children who are in school will have completed their secondary school education. What this means is that school fee payment issue will have been sorted and therefore the struggle will have reduced.

My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I pay school fees on time and my children are no longer sent home to collect school fees like before. I no longer do hard jobs and I devote all my time on my farm and this has resulted into enough food in our family.

My new goals for my life for the next four months is to save more money In a merry go round group that we have started in our village to enable me to pay school fees on time for my children because this will enable them to perform well in their studies.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I pay school fees on time. Before I use to do hard jobs at the construction sites and even sell all my farm produce to get money to pay school fees for my children. My children could be sent home and this was affecting their performance in school but nowadays I pay school fees on time and they are always in school and their performance had really improved. I am so happy because I no longer do hard jobs like before and also I no longer sell all the produce from my farm. My family has enough food and they are very happy.

I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have ventured into group saving culture and this will enable me to pay school fees for my children on time. I will also be doing horticulture farming to enable me to earn an income by selling the produce at the market near home.

My life is currently different as I look back four months ago. I am able to save a few coins from casual work because GiveDirectly funds helps in meeting part of basic needs such as food that would otherwise use the casual work earnings.

My new goal is to buy a cow to give us milk for consumption. Also for it to reproduce for future sale.

The biggest difference in my daily life is the ease that GiveDirectly funds have given me in paying school fee. I used to struggle with arrears but now the burden is lighter because I have three children in secondary school.

I expect to own a cow in the next six months. I am also planning to start buying materials to build a house. We live in an old thatched hut and a run-down iron roofing one. So I feel we need a better house.

Currently I do not have any new goals since I want to first concentrate paying school fees for my children.
