What does receiving this money mean to you?
"We (my husband and I) will use 50% of whatever amount that we'll receive to complete our residential building that we occupied now and invest 50% in business, upon receiving this cash transfer from GiveDirectly. We've considered doing these two because, the house will provide us the kind of comfortable sheyer andthe business will provide sustainable source of income. Due to low income, there is no floor in the entire house. Even the rooms have no doors accept the front and back doors yet, we still occupied it. We I'll lay the floors, install the doors and even plaster it as well. However, we were pushed to quickly construct this building due to the depleting conditions of the family building we occupied by than".
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the late July 2021, the promotions of our kids to different grade levels for the 2020/2021 academic year was my extreme happy time even in the midst of my hardship. It brought me extreme joy because, they didn't let go in vine the little money we generate from an unidentified sources. To cater for the welfare of a family that includes: health care, education shelter, feeding and etc with no bank account or investment is not something easy. However, we burn coal, harvest wild palm for production and even make substance farm to support the kids. As such, their report us to understand that, we have our future in them. So we were very happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The over all hardship I am facing currently is financial hardship. My family has no source of income as such, financial hardship is an every day encounter. I am a farmer and due to the low yield of my farm products many harvest seasons, i am unable to generate sufficient money to handle the needs of the family. Many days , my family consumes what is available and not what we want due to little or no income. Moreover, my kids frown at me during festivals because they can't eat the type of dish other families eat neither do they wear the kind of outting their friends wear.
