How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
GiveDirectly came into our village and our lives just at the right time. This was the moment we needed money in our family to sort other several important bills which were pending. To imagine if we had not received is a devastating thought to us, our lives would have been hard since school fees payment to start with would have been the hardest of all. A development like a store construction would not have taken place.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I liked the way we were enlightened before starting to work they were also timely and demystified the rumors about Illuminati. I am happy for the help received from GD. It would never have been better.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
As a renowned livestock farmer, few pending projects needed to be accomplished one of which was putting up a store where I could keep the hay for the cattle. Upon receiving my second transfers I directed it to build a store to keep food for my livestock. This way I can be sure that even in dry seasons they are well catered for.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a sharp cutter machine to ease my dairy farming project. I have always wish to buy that machine but it was not easy for me. I depend on small scale daily farming project and the amount of money that I get through the sale of milk is so small and cannot gather for all the basic needs of the family. I could do the grass cutting myself and it was taking much of my time. Currently, I have bought a sharp cutter machine and this has eased my work at home. The amount of work that I used to spend around four hours to do, currently by using the machine I do it within less than an hour and this has given me room to do any activities at home. I have enough time to do my job as an electrician and I no longer use much time cutting the grass at home before leaving for the work.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money I felt so happy. I remember it was very early in the morning when I found a message notification on my phone. I felt so happy because I have never received such an amount of money before. I immediately inform my spouse and children and they all celebrated. I knew from that point that I will be able to buy a sharp cutter machine.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy a sharp cutter machine. I have a small daily farming project at home and this machine is very important because it will ease my work. I also bought poles and other building materials ready to build a dairy house and storeroom and the rest of the money I used it to buy food for the family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I rare a few livestock (cows and goats) and I depend on milk to supplement the little income I get from being a casual laborer (electrician). Owing to this, I have a plan of acquiring a new machine (costing around 20 USD) for milling animal feeds and the remaining 25 USD, I will use to build a crush. Therefore, receiving this money mean I will be able to own my own machine.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My day start by visiting my livestock early in the morning to check if they are all well. After that, I take my breakfast and head for my casual work as an electrician in a nearby town which is hard to come by. At least when I get the job, I go home with around 2 USD a day which I use to buy food for my family. The happiest part of my day is therefore in the evening when I get back home and enjoy the rest of the evening with my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I was involved in a grisly road accident 3 years ago which affected my right leg. Since then, I have been frequenting the hospital (once a week) for checkups and other medication. This has affected my mobility in a number of ways. The nature of my job requires a lot of climbing and I experience difficulties doing so due to the affected leg. That has been the biggest hardship I have faced in life.
