How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different because I have managed to make home improvements using money. I bought many household items including a radio system. This is has proofed useful since all the family members are at home. we enjoy listening to music as a past time and also for information as we stay at home to comply with government regulations to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDireclty did well because the enrolment was voluntary. No sone was forced to Jon yet we all enrolled. I am happy that the money for every member of my village was equal.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfer on expanding my business. I have been running a bar business in a nearby shop. I have used part of the money to stock the bar that had already started making more profits. I also bought some clothes for the children and food for my children

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has greatly changed since I received my first transfer. It is always my happiness to see my family happy and healthy thus I always struggle to put a meal on the table and bring in more assets that we can lean on as a family during hard times. When I received my first transfer from GiveDirectly, I spend on my family wellness. I bought a cow that I look at it as an added asset and I believe soon it will calve thus give us milk for both household consumption and sales. I am happy that this has given me a peaceful mind in that It has reduced my thinking of what to lean on in case of a financial crisis. I am certain that it offsprings will help me in future meet my family's needs especially my children education.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was left filled with joy and thanking GiveDirectly after reading a message that woke me up from a deep sleep early that morning. I was surprised to receive a message such early since it had never been the case before. It was a Mpesa message confirming to me that I had received money from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have been operating a business to help me sustain my family and improve our standards. For quite long, I have been failing to maximize profits from my business due to its low cap[ital. When I received my first transfer I took KES10000 to inject into the business. I am happy that this has widen my products thus increasing my profits that will help meet my family's needs and further invest. As a farmer, I took KES25000 to buy a cow to add to the herd I had. I preferred this since it will boost our daily milk production thus have more income. I spent the remaining part of my first transfer on my family's daily basic needs and household items.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will enable me to build a visitor's house since i usually have them sleep in a room where my chicken stay, which is not healthy to them due to the stingy smell of chicken wastes. This money has also come in handy at a time my beverage business is nearly colapsing hence i will be able to boost it using my GD transfers.
What is the happiest part of your day?
After spending the whole day at my shop selling beverages to my clients, counting the proceeds for the day every evening is the time i am most happy knowing that the business is blooming and i am not incurring any loses
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Unreliable rainfall patterns that has rendered my farm unprodictive has been the biggest hardship i face. I spend most of the proceeds i earn from my small business of selling beverages to support my family needs eg. buying food, hence barely enough is left for savings, meaning i haven't been able to succeed in terms of achieving my development goals.
