How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Sophia, before GD came, I planned to renovate my house but could not be realized due to lock of funding. My entire life is just farming, even when I sale the products, the cash could not still renovate the house. I got enrolled as a recipient on the GD program and received my first and second transfers. With the first and second transfers, I was now able to start the renovation of my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I want to take this time to say a very big thanks to Give Directly for services rendered us during the entire enrollment process was very transparent. You did a great and excellent job.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy five ( 5) bundles of zinc and paid people to start the renovation. I was also able to buy food for the children. Thanks to the entire Give Directly family for the transfer that will enable me to complete the renovation of my house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The house I am living in is not in good condition. I usually suffered during rainy days due to the leakages. I couldn't afford to change to change the roof. I was excited when I received my transfer. I felt relief because I was now in the position to re-roof my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done well by transferring cash directly to us. The transfers received have brought changes in our lives. Infrastructure development is taking place in our community. Parents are in the position to pay their children tuition regularly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my recent transfer to purchase zinc and pay school fees.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I had just returned home from the farm when I heard people celebrating. There was joy in the town, so I hurriedly ran to inquiry what was happening. My friends told me that they have received their money from Givedirectly. I ran for my phone immediately and give it to my brother- In- Law to check. He confirmed that I have received mine. I was so happy and still remain happy till today. I didnt expect such an amount. I join the other villagers and we dance and discuss the bigest suprise ever in our town.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was really down and frustrated. I have just lost my big daughter who was a major source of support for me and the family. I was confused and had no idea of how I was going to survive. I am now happy with the support I am getting from Givedirectly. I can now plan my life and fix my living place, which I have been so worry about.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am planning to reroof my house that is currently leaking. I have decided to buy bundle of zinc. I also want to change my doors. They are all old and I would like to replace them

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I recieve the transfer I plan to build new dirt bricks structure because the structure my family and I live in now is a mud house and it has already started falling; even though we plaster it but the cement can not hold the mud any longer and the roof is also leeking; that which keep my family cold whole night when it rains; l will also used the remaining cash to paid workers to clean in my coacoa farm, palm farm and rubber farm. For the past two years we have not been able to clean in these plantation because of financial difficuties; and it is throuh this plantation we are able to sponsor our children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What has brought me joy or happiness in the past six months is the healing of my daughter this November after two months of serious illness; that brought me happiness because my younger daughter also died this year from the same illness so when my elder daughter came down with the same illness i was very mush broken; but with the help of God she survived tjat which broght joy or happiness to me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges we are currently face with is the farming process, we will take all of our time to produce rice, pepper, okra, bitter ball and egg plant that will substan us atleast for a year but the wild animals will distrolled them and doing harvest season we will not be able to produce even a beg of 25kg; and due to our location there is no means of puttibg stop to this damage.
