How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I am happy and proud because my living standards have improved through the decent house that I have constructed. Previously, I used to stay in a semi permanent house that was not well furnished. The house was pausing a threat especially during the rainy season because it could become very cold.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through giving cash transfers directly which I spent to construct my permanent house that will soon house us. In spite of the cash transfer that has supported me, It would be good if additional transfers could be given in order to start sustainable livelihood activities.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer worth UGX 1,000,000 for completing construction of my house through the purchase of cement, sand, murram, feeding and paying for labour. I spent UGX 32,000 on transport for going to attend a funeral and contributed some money to meet the burial costs. The balance of UGX 600,000, I intend to spend it on buying a cow that will support in milk production.
