I spent part of the second cash transfer to complete the house construction. I also bought household items such as a bed, mattress, metalic box, bedsheets and clothes.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly only does well to send people unconditional cash transfers. These have enabled them construct permanent houses.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that we constructed a permanent house and acquired household property like bedding and clothes. We also hired two large fertile pieces of land for farming. Previously, we were living in a small thatched house which was uncomfortable. I am happy that the cash transfers enabled us acquire assets within a short period of time.
