What does receiving this money mean to you?
Currently I am an elderly woman who is still farming to make ends meet. Right now all of my bigger children have traveled to the city to pursue their education. Over the years, it has been my dream to make a larger farm that will grow more yield. Now that I have been told about Givedirectly plan for my house hold, if I receive this cash transfer from Givedirectly, I will use some portion of the money to make my dream come through by making a larger farm that will enable me yield more harvest. This will enable me to generate more money to support my children's education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In January of 2022, four of grandchildren were successful in the national Examinations and graduated with honor. This brought me joy and happiness because with such a result, I have the assurance that my grandchildren will have a brighter future as compared to what I went through due the lack of education.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
During 2020 farming season, the crops I planted on my farm were destroyed by cattles and wildlife. As such during harvest, my family never havested any yied from our farm and right now there is no food in our storage to sustain my family for the coming rainy season.
